A heptagonal story

They were beautiful when I first discovered them, and they still are.

Unlike writing, I do not collect coins back in Malaysia. The hobby of collecting coins only begins when I arrive in London. With an eye for details, tiny pieces of historical events will line up chronologically, displaying their own unique designs for those who are patient enough to collect.

Each coin, with amazing intricacy crafted on it-passes on from one hand to another- like a curious kid who is eager to tell a story to the people who are willing to listen. Somewhere in the small, heptagonal metal, lies an untold story of the eventful incident which has occurred at a time where people today have forgotten.

It's delicately meaningful. The coin represents a milestone of art and history, which may have lost in time. And a collector like me, hoping to pick up one of them at a coffee shop or in a grocery store, to be happy again like a child.

I once visited a street art exhibition near Camden Market. There goes a piece of art saying, 'our only commodity is art, and there is no higher commodity than that'.

Personally, I think that the painter is most certainly right. To tell a story, you don't really need a beautiful mind. What you need are a beautiful heart, and an eye for details.
